Planning Consent Granted For Up To 350 Homes At St Mary’s Hill, Blandford

Following successful promotion of development with the local planning process, outline planning permission has now been secured for a mixed use development of up to 350 dwellings and community facilities on land at Blandford St Mary.

Development in accordance with the outline planning permission will deliver 30% affordable housing to meet local needs, a financial contribution to education facilities in the town, a community hall, allotments, enhancements of the trailway network and highway improvements. The planning permission also provides scope for a number of optional facilities including care home, medical centre, public house/restaurant.

Malcolm Brown, Director of Planning at Sibbett Gregory, commented: “this successful outcome has been achieved by:

  • Effective promotion of the site through the local plan process.
  • By working with architects and others to develop a strong case for sustainable development
  • Compilation of environmental impact statement concluding that there would be no significant impact upon the environment.”
