New letting at Admiralty Park

Poole-based commercial property agents Sibbett Gregory have recently completed a new letting at Admiralty Park, the substantial business park owned by Birchmere Ltd at Holton Heath to the west of Poole.

The Lighthouse, a local non-denominational church who have been meeting in various buildings in Lychett Matravers over the past 10 years have taken a new lease of Building D22 (5135 sq ft) to accommodate the expanding congregation and add a new chapter to its history.

Senior church leader Phil Read explained: “There are about 150 of us now, and we thought it would be a good time to make the move and find a more permanent home. We have had a rather nomadic decade and we were thrilled to find somewhere we can settle which suits our needs so well. Not only is there a hall space to comfortably fit up to 200 people, but there are also offices and classrooms outside for our meetings and youth work.”

The church is currently fitting out the interior and hope to be all ready in their new premises by April. Birchmere are delighted with the letting as it will bring new life to the business park that currently accommodates a wide variety of occupiers including Jigsaws Furniture Ltd, Media Conversion Ltd and Pilkington Marine who make Sunseeker engines. Birchmere development director Paul Jeffries said: “Admiralty Park is a very interesting site, not least because it was once home to a Royal Navy cordite factory, built on the specific instructions of Winston Churchill who visited at least a couple of times.”

Birchmere purchased the 40-acre site in 2002 which currently has 285,000 square feet of buildings. Six of these are of significant architectural importance. There are a number of other buildings available to let at the site which is set among mature trees and large landscaped areas. Paul Jeffries added: “It’s a lovely place to work, so little wonder we always have a lot of interest in this site which is fast becoming a cornerstone to business in the Purbeck area.”
