Sibbett Gregory

Sibbett Gregory are pleased to be involved, on behalf of the owners, in the planning of the proposed residential development on the site of the former Grammar School in Swanage. This site is being promoted through the Local Development Framework, Core Strategy for Purbeck District.

The site, in the north of Swanage, is within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has been assessed by the Local Planning Authority as being a suitable residential site with limited overall impact if developed.

Western Design Architects were retained to provide visual illustrations for the residential development which have recently been on display at the Mowlem Theatre, Swanage.

The preferred scheme incorporates market and affordable housing and a care home; significant landscaping, discretely located car parking and designs reflecting the distinctive character of Swanage and the Purbeck Hills to minimise the visual impact. Sustainable construction, materials and drainage are also proposed to reduce the environmental impact of the development and minimise energy consumption.
